What Happens Next & How to Report Cheaters

Metalympics has prepared a solid workflow and user reporting system

Projected Workflow After Competitions

Report Cheaters (3 Days)

After the competition is over, the community will be given the list of all the participants and their video recordings. Within three days, the community members can file a report to the Admins to notify the suspicious users.

There is no particular format of the report, but screenshots and detailed analysis of the video frame by frame with valid reasons can help us to determine. Most of the reports, if they are with valid reasons, will be accepted to invite the suspicious users to prove.

We opened up a ticket channel on our Discord server, where you can file a private report to the Admins.

The report must include the following information:

  • Suspicious User's ID/Nickname on The Sandbox.

  • Reasons you think the player cheated AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE.

  • Screenshots, if any, to report any particular parts of the screen recording.

Deliver KYC (3 Days)

The KYC form will be privately delivered to the winners (subject to change) to submit the personal details. As confirmed by Sebastien Borget, The Sandbox will prepare the KYC protocol to validate the submission. The prize distribution will not be proceeded without the proper KYC verification.

The KYC form will ask the winners to provide sensitive personal details, such as

  • Email Address

  • Phone Numbers

  • Proof of Address

Such information will be strictly strictly handled by Metalympics and The Sandbox based on the Privacy Policy.

The "winners" that fail to deliver the KYC within the 3 days of delivery will be disqualified, and the prize will be delivered to the following runners.

If any users are disqualified or do not fill out the form, the KYC form will be delivered to the new winners, and they will be given another 3 days to follow the instruction.

If you want to know more about KYC, please refer to the blog linked below.

Invite to Prove (7 Days)

After the report period, the players marked to be suspicious will be given maximum 7 days to prove their plays. The user may also be invited to play live on Discord that anyone in the community can watch as well.

In the live play, the margin of error more than 2% will not be accepted. For example, if the submitted gameplay was 50 seconds, the live play needs to have a record of at most 51 seconds.

The players will also be given a chance to file a rebuttal. If the users fail to schedule the live play and do not submit the rebuttal, the users will be banned permanently by the system of The Sandbox.

Again, the KYC may be sent to the new winners, which needs to be finalized within 3 days of the delivery.

Information sent to The Sandbox for Prize Distribution (Onwards)

The Sandbox, our official sponsor, will NO LONGER determine the cheaters with the players' gameplays. Metalympics will make all the final decisions regarding the cheating, and the responsibility of The Sandbox is to disqualify the users with invalid KYC.

Please keep in mind that it takes a few months for The Sandbox to prepare the KYC protocols. We highly appreciate your patience.
