Universal Rules
There are universal rules that are applied of any competitions or events held by Metalympics
Metalympics always tries the best to eliminate the unfairness that can be possibly derived from different settings or devices, cheating software, or greedy users. Therefore, we impose the following rules that will be universally applied in submissions of any competitions or events held by Metalympics.
If your behaviors are suspicious, you may be asked to play live by sharing your screen on Discord. You must reply to the Admins' messages when you are asked to do so and schedule the play. If you don't schedule the play within the period you were asked to or don't show up at the scheduled slot, you will be disqualified
In summary, the rules include:
Submissions that do not follow the rules will be disqualified and removed from the submission form without any prior notice.
If you are concerned or confused with any of your submissions or rules, please consult with the Admins of the Metalympics Discord server.
Proper Video Recordings
At this Alpha stage, video recordings are how we accept the submissions of events held on The Game Maker. All the videos submitted need to strictly follow the following rules. The videos:
Must include the in-game sound effects and music.
Must not include any editing during the game play.
Must spare at least TWO SECONDS after the result screen shows up.
Must clearly show the nickname, and it needs to match The Sandbox ID used for the submission.
Must be at least 720p and 24 fps.
Must clearly show the version of the The Game Maker client on the corner.
Videos that are muted or edited with other musics or sound effects will all be disqualified.
Videos taken by your smartphones are also accepted in case your computer cannot process the game and the screen recording at the same time. However, they must also follow the rules mentioned above.
Videos with your hand cam are very welcomed!
KYC Verified
With the help from The Sandbox, the winners will need to submit the personal details to verify the identity. KYC protocol will be strictly imposed to record the participation and prevent any cheaters from receiving the prizes.
While The Sandbox prepares the KYC system, the winners will be asked to fill in the Google Form to submit the personal details within one week from the delivery of the KYC form.
The personal details is confidential information that will be strictly handled by Metalympics and The Sandbox based on the Privacy Policy
First Come First Served
At this Alpha stage, The Sandbox and The Game Maker officially doesn't support the milliseconds. While we may analyze with the video recordings, we currently have no resources that can efficiently process hundreds of submissions.
Therefore, if two or more users happen to have the same result, the earlier submission will be ranked higher based on the form submission timestamp.
If you have any gameplays, please submit as soon as you can! Play smart!
No Multiple Accounts
The prizes need to be distributed to as many people as possible. With the help of our partner The Sandbox, players that use multiple accounts will be disqualified and permanently banned from all the events held by Metalympics and possibly from other events held in The Sandbox.
No Equipment
If we see an avatar with any equipment, no matter if it gives a boost, we WILL NOT accept the result. We have found some users using an equipment like a sword. While we configured the specific avatar with fixed stats, we want to promote as a fair competition as possible. It’s hard to check if such an equipment gives the user an advantage.
Even if the equipment doesn't give any boosts, your submission will be disqualified to prevent any bad situations.
No Cheating Software
Using the cheating software program (a.k.a. Cheat Engine) is a serious problem. If the submission seems to be using such programs or show any suspicious behaviors that may be derived from such programs will be disqualified.
The Game Maker Version Specified
While The Sandbox puts countless efforts to fix the unexpected bugs, we observed that some players took an advantage of an outdated version. Therefore, we will announce the correct version of The Game Maker for every competition, so that we can promote fairness -- as we always do!
